Takes about 60 seconds. No cost, no obligation.
Three things, done properly
We stay narrow on purpose. Roofing, windows, and the exterior envelope are where Delaware’s weather does its damage — and where a bad contractor costs you the most.
Three steps, about 60 seconds of your time
-
Tell us the project
One short form. What’s wrong, what town you’re in, how to reach you. The more detail you give, the better the match — but “I think I need a new roof” is a perfectly good start.
-
We match you locally
We pick up to three contractors from our network who are licensed, insured, and actually working in your zip code — not a call center two states away.
-
Compare and decide
They contact you directly to look at the job and quote it. You compare, ask questions, and hire whoever you like. Or nobody. It’s your house.
Because getting three honest quotes is harder than it should be
Up to 3 quotes, one form
Tell us about the project once. We route it to matching contractors in your town — no repeating yourself on five phone calls.
Licensed & insured, or no lead
Our rule: no contractor receives your name, number or address until they have shown us an active Delaware business license and current liability insurance, and confirmed they work in your town.
Free, and no obligation
Homeowners never pay us. Compare the bids, hire whoever you want, or walk away entirely.
Northern Delaware only
We cover New Castle County and nothing else. The contractors we work with know local permit offices, HOA rules, and what a nor’easter does to a 1960s roof deck.
Straight talk: Blue Hen Pros is a matching service, not a contractor. We don’t climb on your roof — we find the people who will, and we get paid a referral fee by them, never by you. If a site like this one won’t tell you that plainly, close the tab.
We’re equally plain about the limits of our checks: a license proves a contractor is permitted to do the work, not that they’ll do it well. Read exactly what we check, and what we don’t →
Northern Delaware, and only Northern Delaware
We cover New Castle County — 13 towns from Claymont on the Pennsylvania line down to Middletown. Pick yours to see what the housing stock in your neighborhood typically needs.
Questions homeowners ask us first
Is Blue Hen Pros a roofing company?
No — and we want to be clear about that, because plenty of sites like this one aren’t. We are a free matching service. We don’t install roofs, windows or siding. We take your project details and connect you with independent contractors who hold their own Delaware license and insurance, and who actually work in your town. They do the work; you hire them directly.
What does it cost me?
Nothing. Homeowners never pay us. We’re paid a referral fee by contractors in our network when we send them a qualified project. That’s the whole business model, and you should know it before you fill out a form.
How many contractors will contact me?
Up to three. We cap it deliberately — the whole point is to give you enough bids to compare without your phone ringing for a week. If you only want one, say so in the project details and we’ll honor it.
How do you vet the contractors?
Our rule is simple: a contractor does not receive your name, number or address until they have shown us an active Delaware business license and a current certificate of liability insurance, and confirmed they actually work in your town. If a homeowner tells us a contractor behaved badly, that contractor stops receiving leads. What we cannot do is guarantee anyone’s workmanship — a license proves they are permitted to do the work, not that they will do it well. So still read the contract, still check their reviews independently, and still ask for local references. Our full policy is on the vetting page.
Which areas do you cover?
Northern Delaware only — New Castle County, from Claymont on the Pennsylvania line down to Middletown. If you're outside that, we'd rather tell you than waste your time.
Do I have to hire anyone?
No. Get the quotes, use them as a sanity check on a bid you already have, or decide the project can wait another year. There’s no obligation and nobody will hassle you.
